NORMAN BROOKS N.B.A.S. BREAKING NEWS
THE LATEST N.B.A.S. DISCOVERIES & MORE
YOU AIN'T HEARD NOTHIN' YET!!!
1. " The Block " as you read in the N.B.A.S. newsletter, was featured and an all out search is on to locate a copy of this 1966 film directed by Tony Orlando. Norman Brooks played "Brand" a non-vocal part in the film. Beat the bushes the best you can and I'm sure our N.B.A.S. members will locate a copy!
2. It has been confirmed, courtesy Bertolet Archives, that those two questioned Logan label # 222 titles of "Sweetie Sweet Kisses" and "Peaceful Night." are in fact our very own Norman Brooks And His Orchestra. It's been a long time wondering and searching but if they are out there.... the N.B.A.S. will find them!
3. Once again I make a plea to all members to quiz I.A.J.S. members, any Canadian contacts, or anyone about the following. Please put your best foot forward to locate the two Norman Brooks Venus label VS 3043 Hit Parade titles "dans le valle' and "notre anniversaire." These titles made it to # 17 on the charts in 1963 so I know that they are out there some where. I thought these would be the easiest to locate!
4. Long time members know this but for our newest N.B.A.S. members, a free lifetime membership goes to any member coming up with a new Norman Brooks discovery. The discovery can be a recording, a photo, an article, a poster, sheet music, etc.. Think of all the fun you'll have diving in to those flea market boxes, garage sales, or anywhere else you can think of to go treasure hunting. Simply please e-mail me at NormanBrooksFan1@aol.com and I'll tell you if you found something. Good Luck!
Thanks, Norman & Me
